Natya Yoga and Capoeira Workshops

Let’s face it lads and ladies … when was the last time you signed up for a Natya Yoga or Capoeira workshop?
We are headed into week three of term. We have just crossed the hurdle that Valentine’s Day can be for some of us. Perhaps you are are lucky in love, and are wanting and willing to extend that happy glow? Or maybe you are in the fun and frolicking phase of your life and want to try something a little different with a friend, a partner, your sister, or Mum or another family member?
How about signing up for a hot and heavy session of Natya Yoga incorporating Indian dance!
Date: Saturday March 12th, 2016
Time: 1:00pm – 2:30pm
Price: €20 pp or €30 per couple
We have put together a couples package for you to invite (or treat) someone you want to spend a little more time with and think this is going to be one of those unique experiences – are you game?
This class is designed to help give your your body a good workout (in a unique way), replenish your spirit with the free movement of Indian Dance, finishing up a real treat for your mind as we end the session with a beautiful introduction to meditation.
And before you start worrying and trying to talk yourself out of this, just remember, we can all get stuck in a rut sometimes. Here it is the middle of February and we have forgotten what our new years resolutions even were! There is really no time like the present to take the bull by the horns and get back on track. Sometimes, it is our very own self that holds us back, not allowing our inner beauty shine. Come along and have a laugh with us. We always find it is a great lesson to have a laugh at ourselves … shur if we can’t have a bit of fun from time to time … well. ..
Now, when you are ready to go, phone the studio at 091 760 044 and get your name on the list. It is a 1.5 hr workshop (€30 per couple).
AND you will need to wear a pair of socks that have the grippers on the bottom. Like these ones which can be bought in your local Pennys! Or we will have some at the studio for sale too, incase you don’t get a pair in advance.
Arrive a few minutes early and enjoy a cup of tea. Make sure you tell the instructor about any aches, strains or injuries you might be experiencing. Stay hydrated and eat lightly before you workout. Maybe a bowl of granola with greek yoghurt and banana.
Keep an open mind. When you arrive at the studio, be present in the moment. Learning new moves or listening to new music may not be what you’re used to. That is ok. Well done you for trying something different!
Be willing to let loose and go with the flow. This workshop promises its own unique offering, so allow yourself to follow along and experience what makes this different.
This is all about learning to focus as much on your movement and get more of the feel-good endorphins from breaking a sweat, meditating and dancing!
Capoeira – what now?
Oh – and incase this has tickled your fancy, why not throw your name in the hat for a spot of Capoeira? Yes – right here in the studio!
Date: Saturday March 12th, 2016
Time: 9:30am – 11:00am
Price: €15 pp
Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that draws its inspiration from Dance and martial arts. It was developed in Brazil mainly by West African descendants with native Brazilian influences, probably beginning in the 16th century. It is known for quick and complex moves, using mainly power, speed, and leverage for a wide variety of kicks, spins, and highly mobile techniques. Just watching someone perform Capoeira is a feast for the eyes, so taking a little instruction on these two very different styles of movement is quite the experience for your body!
You know the drill, phone the studio at 091 760 044 and get your name on the list. It is a 1.5 hr workshop at €15 per person.
This is our first Capoeira workshop and we are very excited about this one!
Right … back to work!
See you at the studio.
